this is my sister&her ‘boyfriend’, Luis(:
basically, they both went to a special school when they were about 6, and they met there. they were inseperable. our mom&his mom took turns in taking them to the movies, and to McD’s, and sometimes he would just chill at our house and vice versa. when they weren’t together, he would call our house and in his cute little voice he would say ‘hi! can i talk to mariana please? i miss her’. it was the most adorable thing ever. my sister eventually got moved to a regular school because the teachers decided she was too advanced to be held back in the special school. OH MY GOD, i can’t believe to explain how much she was crying when she found out. but that didn’t stop them from seeing each other practically every day. they literally MADE their parents take them out because they just needed to see each other.
when we found out we were moving halfway across the world(at this point they were about 9), they spent an entire day at the park, holding hands&he wouldn’t let her go. when they said goodbye, it was the cutest thing ever. he actually gave her a big hug and he said ‘you’re my girlfriend, i love you’ and he kissed her on the cheek.
so now, four years later, they talk on the phone every other day, and i don’t even know what they talk about, but they talk for hours&at the end of each conversation, i always hear her say ‘i love you luis’.
this is proof that down-syndrome kids aren’t that different to us.
and if this isn’t love, i sure as hell don’t know what is(:
